Following the Father

Genesis 1:1-Revelation 22:21

About me

I was brought into this world in 1991 and ever since then I have been living, growing, falling, laughing, crying, and learning to take one step at a time as I follow my Creator.

My family has made has made our goal to please Christ, even though it is a constant challenge.  We're learning that nothing that lasts and is of true value comes easily, but it is the most rewarding in every way.  We're amazed at how God knows how to put families together as we've seen how each member of the family seems to sharpen the rough edges off of each other.

My parents are our spiritual leaders and are committed to seeing each member grown in character and learn to walking humbly with our God.  I have five siblings, two older brothers, one younger brother, and two younger sisters.  Us older three kids were born and raised in the U.S, but we also lived in Ghana West Africa from 1991-2001.  My parents worked as church planters in a village in the rural northern part of Ghana.  I treasure that experience and miss many friends there!  My other three siblings were brought into our family through adoption in 2005.  They are from Liberia, another country that my family was connected to in West Africa.  My uncle and aunt lived in the country for over 25 years, during that time my mom went to visit them once with her parents when she was a teenager.  Since that time though Liberia had a terrible civil war that lasted 15 years and brought detestation to the entire country.  It is hard to put something so torn apart back together, but with God's help it can happen!

I love my siblings and see them as great assets.  They help me grow and learn how to be at peace with many different types of people.  Though I still am not as "at peace" and loving as I should be!

My Grandma lives with us now and has since 2007.  She developed Alzheimers and is unable to care for herself any longer.  Having her with us has been a great opportunity to serve her and give her the home and family environment she needs.

I love to write, take pictures, and keep up with people, so I thought having a website with a blog would be a good outlet.  I know I really enjoy keeping up with many online friends through their blogs.

Other interests of mine are: Taking care of children and babies, reading, international missions, writing, names, (as in learning their meanings, writing down the ones that strike me) and midwifery.

The latter I hope to be able to study further as God leads!

Blessings in HIM,

~Elizabeth
